Problems that have arisen
Lot of modules. Their relationship is not obvious due to undocumentation.
Edits in the kernel. Due to the fact that earlier the development was not carried out correctly and edits were made directly to the engine core, which did not allow updating without problems.
Decisions and Outcomes
Upon completion of the work, Bitrix and PHP were updated. A lot of errors were detected (due to the problems described above).
The customer is invited to move on step by step, through iterations, and to correct the errors that arise. As an alternative, the option of creating from scratch was also proposed, since the labor costs are quite comparable.
At the moment, we are negotiating the further implementation of the project, together with the customer, writing a technical specification for eliminating errors that appeared after updating the version of PHP and Bitrix.
